The US Department of Housing and Urban Development has opened nominations for the HUD Secretary’s Award for Excellence in Healthy Homes. The award is designed to highlight the impact healthy housing can play in improving health and well-being of individuals and communities. Criteria focuses on health equity, innovative approaches, best practices, policies, research, and community engagement that reduce exposure to health risks. Winning nominations should be replicable in other geographic areas.
State, county, and local governments, community and faith-based organizations, healthcare and childcare providers, Tribal governments and nations, and more are encouraged to apply. Nominations are open until May 15, 2024.
