The California Department of Public Health is emphasizing Cal/OSHA’s Protection from Wildfire Smoke regulation in an effort to protect workers during wildfire events. The regulations are comprehensive, and require employers to:
- Identify harmful exposures
- Communicate and Train
- Reduce Workers’ exposure to wildfire smoke using engineering and administrative controls, and personal protective equipment
