The July 2023 edition of the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: Global contains an article examining the prevalence of childhood asthma in under-resourced communities undergoing housing renovations. Researchers investigated the prevalence of asthma in 7-year-olds in apartments being renovated in Cincinnati, Ohio. They found “renovation of an under-resourced community’s housing resulted in a lower prevalence of asthma for 7-year-olds who were born after the renovations had been completed.”
