A Randomized Clinical Trial on The Effectiveness of a Digital Asthma Self-Management Program

A study, released by JAMA Network in July 2025, investigated the effectiveness of a digital asthma self-management (DASM) program. A randomized clinical trial of 901 adults with asthma found that the DASM program significantly improved symptom control after 12 months compared to usual care. The app-based program offered tools such as tailored reminders, symptom logging, and wearable device integration. Differences in effectiveness were observed across some demographic groups, suggesting the need for further adaptation of DASM programs.
