The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) has released its 2026 edition of the Allergy Capitals Report. More than 100 million people in the United States live with various types of allergies every year. Many of them have seasonal pollen allergies.
The report explores how challenging it is to live with seasonal allergies in the 100 most populous U.S. cities by exploring three factors: (1) Overall pollen score (tree, grass, and weed pollen), (2) over-the-counter allergy medicine use, and (3) access to allergy specialists.
The top 10 most challenging places to live with seasonal allergies are:
- Boise, Idaho
- San Diego, California
- Tulsa, Oklahoma
- Provo, Utah
- Rochester, New York
- Wichita, Kansas
- Raleigh, North Carolina
- Ogden, Utah
- Spokane, Washington
- Greenville, South Carolina
The top 10 least challenging places to live with seasonal allergies are:
- Houston Texas
- New York, New York
- San Antonio, Texas
- Boston, Massachusetts
- Phoenix, Arizona
- Fresno, California
- Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
- El Paso, Texas
- McAllen, Texas
- Tucson, Arizona
