Impact of Federal Rental Assistance on Asthma Outcomes

In the March 2020 edition of the Journal of the American Medical Association Pediatrics, an article examines whether being on federal rental assistance programs affects asthma outcomes. The study utilized data from 2992 children in the National Health Interview Survey and looked at when children had asthma attacks or emergency department visits. Researchers found “rental assistance was associated with less emergency department use” but “no significant changes were found in asthma attack or asthma diagnoses.”
