IAQ Awareness Month: Supporting Sustainable Asthma Home Visiting

October is IAQ Awareness Month, which makes it a perfect time to highlight support for asthma home visiting programs that simultaneously improve asthma outcomes and indoor air quality.

Under a Cooperative Agreement with the US Environmental Protection Agency, RAMP and the National Center for Healthy Housing (NCHH) offer a wide range of technical assistance, peer learning opportunities, and tools to help scale and sustain local efforts.

Technical assistance (TA): Are you interested in creating systematic changes in your community or state to support in-home asthma services and you don’t know where to start? Or perhaps you’re already deep into this work but are stuck and aren’t sure what to do next? No matter the situation, RAMP and NCHH are delighted to be in your corner: We can help you take concrete actions to build cross-sector partnerships and put sustainable, systems-level policies and programs in place. Peer learning opportunities: No community has to tackle sustainable asthma home visiting services alone. RAMP and NCHH connect programs facing similar challenges, facilitate peer-to-peer exchanges, link emerging programs with experienced mentors, and create opportunities for shared learning through webinars, conference panels, and events such as the National Lead and Healthy Housing Conference. Learning from peers helps communities identify proven strategies, overcome barriers, and accelerate progress.

Tools: In addition, RAMP and NCHH have developed a wide range of tools to help build systems for sustainable asthma home visiting services. Below are just a few examples; for the full list, click here.
