The June 3rd RAMP CHW meeting focused on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for Asthma Remediation clients. The workshop, specifically for asthma home visitors:
- Provided an overview of what IPM is and why this healthier, more sustainable approach is important to use when addressing pests as part of Asthma Remediation
- Built your capacity to identify pests and signs of pests during an in-home environmental asthma trigger assessment.
- Built your capacity to educate clients/families about what they can do to prevent and manage pests.
- Helped you identify sources of pest problems that could potentially be addressed through Asthma Remediation (e.g. exposed food and trash, plumbing leaks, cracks and crevices)
- Described the types of supplies and services that the Asthma Remediation program may provide to address pests.
