Leveraging our successes in California, for many years RAMP has had the privilege of supporting communities and states across the country as they also build sustainable systems for home-based asthma services. Much of this work has happened in close collaboration with our partners at the National Center for Healthy Housing and with funding from the US Environmental Protection Agency.
Tools and resources
RAMP and NCHH have developed a wide range of tools to build systems for sustainable asthma home visiting services, including:
- Medicaid Billing Codes for Asthma Home Visiting Services: A compilation of codes and the context for using them
- Sustainable Financing for Home-Based Asthma Services: Snapshots of Innovation and Progress Across the Country: Case studies that provide an overview of what progress and pathways might look like. For a related webinar, click here.
- Roadmap to Sustainable Asthma Home Visiting: An interactive tool that recognizes and relies upon local organizational strengths, knowledge of the community, and unique opportunities to support home-based asthma services.
- Unlocking the Power of Home-Based Asthma Services: Model Health Benefit Packages: Designed to equip managed care organizations or other healthcare payers with the information they need to improve asthma management among their enrollees by ensuring the provision of asthma home visiting services.
- Incorporating Virtual Visits into Home-Based Asthma Services: An e-learning module designed to support organizations in considering and/or implementing virtual asthma home visiting services.
- Building Healthy Indoor Environments with Healthcare: A conversation between NCHH and RAMP staff focused on opportunities nationwide for building healthy indoor environments with healthcare partners.
- Racism, Housing, and Asthma – A Conversation: This webinar focused on the connections between racism, housing, and asthma with three of the country’s leading practitioners and researchers in this space.

Technical assistance
In addition to tools and resources, we also provide technical assistance (TA). Our approach to TA prioritizes responsiveness and flexibility over a more prescriptive approach by meeting TA participants “where they are,” building on their organizational and community strengths and needs and understanding the broader policy and systems context in which they work.
Examples of our TA include:
- Providing strategic guidance on program and policy development
- Serving as a thought partner in establishing and achieving goals
- Sharing best practices from other programs across the country
- Strategizing to overcome challenges and continue progress
- Facilitating peer-to-peer learning
- Supporting fundraising by identifying opportunities and supporting proposals
- Sharing examples of tools developed by programs across the country
- Helping to develop new tools by providing content and providing feedback
- Conducting presentations to build capacity of TA recipients and their partners
- Highlighting TA partners’ successes to advance the field
